چکیده
Background: In current practice, proximal femoral nail (PFN) and dynamic hip screw (DHS) with locking side plate are the implant of choice in stable trochanteric fractures. Most deficiencies standard DHS have been addressed by introduction Locking plate. There plenty studies comparing PFN. But PFN scarce literature. This study aimed to compare outcomes both implants pertrochanteric Methods: The objective this was assess clinical using for fixation 40 patients who were admitted SUT Academy Medical Sciences between October 2017 April 2019. modified Harris score used evaluate patients' progress, regular follow-up conducted their outcomes. Results: Among group, mean 83.05, excellent results observed 2 (10%), good 12 (60%), fair 5 (25%), poor 1 patient (5%). comparison, group had a 85.50, seen 6 (30%), 10 (50%), 3 (5%), Conclusions: more outcomes, while Based on these findings, we can conclude that similarly effective treating intertrochanteric

Management of Pertrochanteric Fractures with Proximal Femoral Nail and Comparison of Results with Dynamic Hip Screw
Introduction: Proximal Femoral Nail and Dynamic Hip Screw, both are the accepted implants for the internal fixation of Pertrochanteric fractures. Objectives of the research were to compare the results of proximal femoral nail and dynamic hip screw in terms of functional mobility of the patients and the results would also be compared in terms of operating time, peri-operative blood loss, radiolo...
متن کاملProximal femoral locking plate versus dynamic hip screw for unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures.
PURPOSE To compare the outcome in patients who underwent surgery for unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures using the proximal femoral locking plate versus the dynamic hip screw (DHS). METHODS 15 men and 5 women aged 32 to 78 (mean, 55) years were randomised to the proximal femoral locking plate group, whereas 14 men and 6 women aged 38 to 75 (mean, 59) years were randomised to the conv...
متن کاملTreatment of Unstable Trochanteric Femur Fractures: Proximal Femur Nail Versus Proximal Femur Locking Compression Plate.
Unstable trochanteric femur fractures are common fractures that are difficult to manage. We conducted a prospective study to compare functional outcomes and complications of 2 different implant designs, proximal femur nail (PFN) and proximal femur locking compression plate (PFLCP), used in internal fixation of unstable trochanteric femur fractures. On hospital admission, 48 patients with unstab...
متن کاملType II Intertrochanteric Fractures: Proximal Femoral Nailing (PFN) Versus Dynamic Hip Screw(DHS)
Background: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to low-energy trauma like simple falls. Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating intertrochanteric fractures by many. Not many studies compare the DHS with Proximal femoral nail (PFN), in Type II intertrochanteri...
متن کاملLetter to the editor: Proximal femoral locking plate versus dynamic hip screw for unstable intertrochanteric femoral fractures.
To the Editor: We read with interest the article by Dhamangaonkar et al.1 May the authors clarify the following points. 1. A dynamic hip screw (DHS) with fixed angle locking screws reduces the risk of implant failure, particularly for patients with osteoporotic bone or less stable fracture configurations.2 Why did the authors compare a proximal femoral locking plate with a non-locking 135o DHS?...
